Red-Headed Woodpecker
The measurement of stress hormones is becoming an effective method of determining the physiological impacts of human activity on birds. Hormone activity also has to deal with the molting of birds, such as the Red-headed Woodpecker. The Red-headed Woodpecker has one complete molt each year and molting occurs in response to a mixture of hormonal changes brought about by seasonal changes.
